Student Work Progress

The mission of the programme is to promote the dignity of honest work by providing opportunities for students to work within the University and thus enabling them to contribute to the general improvement of the institution. The programme provides needy students with opportunities to raise funds to supplement their fees by doing gainful work for the University.

Student Organizations

Students are encouraged to join Unions, professional or social clubs and societies which are registered under the guidance of the Dean of students and Department. Religious associations provide forums for spiritual nourishment to students and the opportunity to develop into responsible and morally upright citizens.

Sports & Games

This section promotes “Sports for All” for recreation and wellbeing of the student fraternity. The section coordinates sports and games and ensures the provision of equipment and facilities. Students have the opportunity and choice to participate in various activities, which include ball games (football, rugby, volleyball, basketball, and handball), martial arts (Tae-kwondo and karate), indoor games (badminton, table tennis, chess) and athletics.

Guidance & Counselling

The services offered by this section target students, staff and neighboring communities, and include, providing leadership in individual counseling, HIV and AIDS and drug abuse control and prevention activities. The section has a Resource Centre and an operational Voluntary Counseling and Testing (VCT) Centre, accredited by the National AIDS and STDs Control Program (NASCOP) since 2004. A number of the activities, including outreach are conducted in collaboration with stakeholders, such as peer educators, behavior change communication groups and the National AIDs Control Council, among others.

Transport Services

TUM is a proud owner of a fleet of vehicles ranging from saloon cars, pick-ups, mini buses to buses that are well managed and maintained by a competent and experienced personnel. Three buses serve the TUM student population during industrial visits as well as social trips to various parts of the country.

Security Services

The Security Department in collaboration with Security Agencies provides a secure environment for learning, research and other University programmes. The professional team is proud of keeping TUM a secure island in an insecure environment.
